VIDEO: BBC Africa- Long Awaited Anas Video on Corruption in African Football, Released

The world including African countries are passionate about football, and eagerly await the commencement of Russia 2018 on June 14th. However corruption in the game has historically damaged the passion and interest in the games. This is because both footballers and officials have been proven and shown to have either taken money to fix matches and/or  failed drug tests.

We are very much aware of the Calciopoli football scandal of 2006, the German referee- Robert Hoyzer scandal of 2005 and many many others.

Today, the release of the long awaited Anas investigation with BBC  Africa has not disappointed. About 150 illegal payments were made to African match officials within the past eighteen months, spanning local games and African Championship games. Referees and match officials were caught on camera taking bribes to fix and influence match results, including a FIFA selected referee for Russia 2018.It is damning:
