US President Barack Obama has arrived in Senegal at the start of a week-long tour of Africa.
He will also visit South Africa and Tanzania as he aims to promote democracy and economic opportunities
Obama is not visiting the giant of Africa- Nigeria, because of the country’s corrupt image. “Corruption is the fastest growing industry in Nigeria”. He also not visiting his father’s home nation – Kenya, because the elected President of Kenya is facing trial at the International Court of Justice.
Expectations and excitements in Africa following Obama’s election as US President has waned. He faces protests in South Africa, by youths emerging from Ghettos.
