Nigerian military chief sets out Mali plan


Nigeria’s military chief Admiral Ola Ibrahim has told the BBC that once the UN Security Council gives the green light for military intervention in Mali, Nigerian troops would be on the ground within one or two weeks.

However, West African leaders are still hoping peace talks can be held with the Islamist militants who control northern Mali.

Admiral Ola Ibrahim, Nigeria’s chief of defence, told Will Ross about the role Nigerian soldiers would play in the country.
