(NAN) Mr Ibrahim Shittu, Director, Department of Political Party Registration and Monitoring, INEC, Abuja, on Tuesday led a team on verification visit to the office of All Progressive Change (APC) in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the team held a closed door meeting with the interim APC officials.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, the Interim National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, said its members had proved to INEC that they existed as gentlemen with befitting accommodation.
He said: “Today, INEC came to visit us in our home, and the commission is happy that we have got a home.
“Through our attendance register, INEC discovered that we belong to a party of gentle men.”
Akande expressed the hope that with the level of its preparation, APC would be registered as a political party.
He said that various conventions had been done by the merging political parties, adding that they had also forwarded various joint applications to the commission for registration.(NAN)
